Long-running Sydney hardcore legends Toe to Toe have announced the upcoming release of their fifth full length album. Entitled Rise Up, the record will be their first release since 2013’s Still Fighting EP. The album will be released on Friday April 28 through Golden Robot Records. From Golden Robot: “Wearing their influences on their tattooed sleeves, Toe To Toe are renowned for their dedication to the ethics of ‘80s hardcore. Passion, intensity and intelligence delivered through the aggressive fusion of metal, punk and old school hardcore that is raw, on edge and completely honest.”
Portland hardcore punks Long Knife have released a new track from their upcoming Sewers of Babylon EP. Entitled Painting the Night, the track stays true to their ‘80s hardcore roots, channelling their Portland godfathers Poison Idea. The band last released the excellent Meditations on Self Destruction LP in 2014 and toured Australia for the first time in 2016. Sewers of Babylon is out next month on Beach Impediment Records.
Legendary Sydney noise punks feedtime have announced the release of their first full length album in 20 years. Entitled Gas, the album is available now from In The Red Records, with orders shipping mid March. From the label: “Gas presents all the elements which make feedtime one of the great Australian pub rock bands. Long-running Canadian tech-thrash punks Propagandhi have announced that they are currently in the studio recording their seventh studio album. With no announcement of a title or release date, the album will be the first since 2012’s Failed States and their first with new guitarist Sulynn Hago who replaced Beaver in 2016.
Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq and Hyder Seek’s Bec Stevens will embark on an acoustic east coast tour early next month. Stevens has already announced plans to enter the studio next month to complete a follow up to 2016’s More Scared Than Me debut record. The pair will play The Reverence Hotel on Sunday April 2.
Newcastle orgcore rockers Paper Thin have announced the release of a new single and an accompanying national tour. Entitled Scared of Flying, the single incorporates a jangle-pop sound with the band’s usual alt-emo. The single is available to listen and purchase through the usual digital outlets via Lost Boy Records. The band will play Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong and Launceston, although no Melbourne show has been announced as yet.
