Crossover thrashers Municipal Waste have announced the upcoming release of their sixth full length studio album. Entitled Slime and Punishment, the album is the band’s first since 2012’s The Fatal Feast. The new record is due to be released on Friday June 23 on Nuclear Blast.

Long-running pop-punk legends Descendents have released a new song in protest of the current Trump administration and political climate in the USA. Although the band has rarely touched in political topics in their 35+ year career, instead opting to focus on girls and food, the band have long since proved their worth as songwriters and philosophers. Entitled Who We Are, the track is available for download now with all proceeds going towards ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

Melbourne hardcore newcomers Year of the Rat have released their debut album. Featuring members of I Exist, Blkout, Most Precious Blood and more, the experienced crew of locals are bringing solid ‘90s metallic hardcore a la Merauder, Earth Crisis, All Out War etc. Hell Bent is out now on Resist.

A new biography of original Circle Jerks bassist Roger Rogerson is due to be released later this year. Entitled The Prodigal Rogerson: The Tragic, Hilarious, And Possibly Apocryphal Story Of Circle Jerks Bassist Roger Rogerson In The Golden Age Of L.A. Punk, 1979-1996, the book documents the life and legacy of the bassist who infamously quit the band in 1983 by stealing the band’s van and not reappearing until 1996, when he attempted to rejoin the band but soon died of a drug overdose. The biography, written by J Hunter Bennett, will be released later this year on Microcosm Publishing.

Although little details are available at this time, Converge have reported that they are back in the studio working on a new full-length album. Their first since 2012’s critically acclaimed All We Love We Leave Behind, the time since marks the band’s longest gap between studio albums. The band most recently released Jane Live, a live performance of their 2001 iconic album Jane Doe.

California pop-punks Bad Cop/Bad Cop have announced the upcoming release of their second full-length album. Entitled Warriors, the record is due out Friday June 16 on Fat Wreck Chords. The band has released the debut single Womanarchist available to stream now.

Philadelphia’s Cayetana have released a new single entitled Bus Ticket. Taken from their upcoming new full-length album New Kind of Normal, the record is due out Friday May 5 on the band’s own label Plum Records. The band recently released a split 7” with Melbourne’sCamp Cope, and toured together nationally.
