Position Duties:
Assist the PR Manager and Assistant PR Manager in implementing the Festival’s publicity plan;
Assist with requirements related to media launches, media calls, compilation of media kits and gift sourcing;
Assist with media release follow-up and the compilation of briefing documents to service media requests;
Draft copy for a variety of mediums including marketing collateral and website;
Develop the enewsletter content plan and draft copy for each issue;
Work with the Marketing Coordinator to contribute content to the Festival’s social media channels;
Assist with media accreditation and the official Visiting Journalist Program by managing applications and drafting documentation and itineraries;
Monitor media and industry sources and disseminate information to relevant MFW staff;
Assist with producing the annual publicity evaluation report through collection and maintenance of all press clippings;
Assist in compiling publicity reports for sponsors, event partners and the Festival board;
Assist with consumer promotion deliverables through media partnerships;
Service media partnerships with the timely provision of information and images;
Maintain and manage media databases including appropriate segmentation;
Maintain the image library;
Assist the Marketing team with ad hoc administrative duties as required.
Skills And Experience:
An appropriate tertiary qualification or final year student in communications, media studies and/or journalism.
High level written skills preferably with demonstrated experience writing for a range of mediums.
Ability to liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people. Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental demonstrating effective organisational skills and initiative.
Computer skills across Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Victoria’s food and wine industry is desirable.
