Duties:
1. Effectively operate and maintain all film projector, film, audio and ancillary equipment
to deliver a consistent high quality visitor experience to all guests;
2. Ensure IMAX projector and screening benchmarks are maintained to ensure the
highest possible presentation standards; understand and apply quality control
techniques;
3. Use expertise to identify and problem solve technical issues to ensure onscreen
interruptions are kept to a minimum
4. Maintain projection, audio, building and ancillary equipment within documented
guidelines;
5. Assist in the delivery, make-up, changing & testing of new film, trailer and audio stock
6. Communicate suggestions to the Senior Technical Advisor to improve the operation
and efficiency of the IMAX Projection room; Assist in the development of operational
policies and procedures;
7. Complete projection area cleaning duties as required to ensure film contamination is
kept to a minimum and area is kept presentable.
8. Comply with Museum Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation
and regulations.
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated ability to use and maintain 35mm and / or 70mm film projectors.
2. Experience in the operation of ancillary projection room equipment including audio /
visual knowledge (use of digital data projection and sound systems / equipment).
3. Demonstrated technical abilities and use of initiative in repairing and problem solving
of mechanical and film issues.
4. Demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure environment.
5. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work.
6. Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
7. Ability to work as an effective team member within a diverse organisation.
