Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton announces new album and Australian tour

Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Darren Middleton, who you may know best as Powderfinger’s guitarist, has revealed his third solo album, TIDES, and a string of Australian shows – each scheduled for later this year.

Middleton collaborated with You Am I’s Davey Lane for the album, with Lane stepping in as co-producer in order to help Middleton refine the new direction of his sound. Middleton has given a taste of what to expect from TIDE with the release of the single ‘Some People’. The track features vocals from Kelly Lane of Melbourne rock outfit Skipping Girl Vinegar against lush, swirling soundscapes.

Kelly Lane is just one of the long list of familiar faces cropping up in Middleton’s band, which also includes Vika and Linda Bull, The Bamboo’s Graeme Pogson, Luke Hodgson (Meg Mac), Xani Kolac and JET’s Louis Macklin.

To celebrate the release of the forthcoming album, Middleton will head on an east coast tour later this year where you can expect to hear both old and new tracks from his extensive catalogue. He’ll hit Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne this October.
