MIFF announces lineup of special guests

After recently dropping the program for 2018, Melbourne International Film Festival has revealed the special guests set to appear across this year’s festival. From musicians and actors to filmmakers and writers, there will be a wide range of guest speakers set to spark your intrigue. 

To launch the festival, Wildlife star Ed Oxenbould will hit the blue carpet for the Opening Night Gala while later in the festival you can expect Academy Award nominated writer and director Debra Granik to present her eagerly awaited return to filmmaking, Leave No Trace. 

Meanwhile, former Grand Prix motorcycling world champion Wayne Gardner will present the world premiere of Wayne alongside the documentary’s director Jeremy Sims while Jimmy Barnes is set to join the director of Working Class Boy, Mark Joffe, for a Q&A session.

Additionally, you can expect to see director of Australian crime-drama 1% Stephen McCallum as well as the film’s writer and actor Matt Nable and castmate Ryan Corr; director of Strange Colours Alena Lodkina, producer Kate Laurie and actor Daniel Jones; and Australian director behind I Used to Be Normal: A Boyband Fangirl Story Jessica Leski, the film’s producer Rita Walsh and fangirls Dana and Susan. 

You can also expect appearances from the brains and faces behind films such as ProfileBook WeekEma Nudar UmanuIn The Land of WolvesDying to Live and Eating Animals and many more across the festival.
