Can’t say I’ve every heard anything like the vocals on Poliça’s Dark Star. It’s a little bit like a squeaky clean version of Zapp’s liberal use of vocoder, or Kanye’s masturbatory autotune breakdowns. It’s something both robotic and beautiful. The track itself is a chilled classic-R&B-style jam that builds up to a blissful release of horns. Cool as hell.
