The 2025 Pitch lineup to feature Joy Orbison

Festival organisers have strongly hinted at Joy Orbison as one of the festival’s 2025 headliners. Known for his influence on UK electronic music, Joy Orbison blends house, techno, and garage sounds – his 2021 release still slipping vol. 1 and latest singles like flight fm and better have solidified his reputation, making him a notable addition to the Pitch lineup.

Last year’s lineup included top-tier electronic acts including Gerd Janson, I Hate Models, Job Jobse, Spray, XCLUB, Bambonou, Chippy Nonstop, Narciss, Mac Declos, Sedef Adasï, Hasvat Informant, and many more.

Pitch festival announces yet another new stage

In 2025, Pitch will unveil reimagined stages and new performance spaces. Notably, the Pitch One stage is set to expand, creating an immersive sound and visual experience for attendees. The Resident Advisor stage, renowned for its iconic red orb, and the Pitch Black stage will also return. These stages, alongside enhanced sound systems, aim to immerse festival-goers fully in the auditory experience.

New to the festival this year is Club Serra, a space dedicated to local talent. Curated as an ode to the community, Club Serra will feature a carefully selected lineup of emerging Australian artists, offering a platform for local creativity and connection.

Pitch’s commitment to merging music with other cultural experiences continues with its Arts Programme, Pitch Pavillion, and the Pitch Precinct. The Pavillion will return with wellness-focused offerings such as yoga, reiki, and ambient soundscapes, providing a tranquil retreat for festival-goers. Pitch Precinct, set among the campsites, will showcase eclectic music by local collectives like On3, The Operatives, and Now Hear This. These areas embody the festival’s focus on creating a diverse cultural experience beyond its primary music stages.

Additionally, last year’s popular Greenhouse Space, a relaxing daytime haven that shifts into an experimental party zone at night, will also return. Skylab Radio, Deep Water, and Navy Blue Radio will take over the Greenhouse with unique DJ sets designed to complement the evolving festival atmosphere.

Safety and communication updates following 2024 challenges

Pitch Music & Arts has implemented significant changes to address issues that arose during the 2024 festival season. With bushfire risks impacting the previous year, organisers have engaged a bushfire behaviour specialist to consult on safety measures. This specialist’s insights have informed an updated emergency plan reviewed by local authorities to ensure robust preparedness.

Enhanced communication systems are also part of the 2025 festival updates. A campground speaker system will be introduced, allowing organisers to share important updates and emergency alerts with all attendees in real-time. Wi-Fi coverage and cellular connectivity will also be strengthened, ensuring attendees can stay connected when needed.

Comfort and wellbeing improvements for 2025

With feedback from previous attendees, Pitch has enhanced its crowd care and harm reduction initiatives, ensuring onsite medical services and support systems throughout the festival. New shaded zones, expanded water and ice stations, and additional misting areas are set to improve comfort for attendees, especially in the warm March weather.

Festival organisers are expanding transport options for 2025, encouraging attendees to minimise their environmental footprint. For those driving, Pitch now offers a Festival & Vehicle Pass Package, allowing groups to pre-organise their vehicle access with their tickets. Bus services from Melbourne CBD and Ararat Station will continue, with additional routes added to accommodate more travellers. This expanded service offers a convenient and eco-friendly option for reaching the Grampian Plains location.
