Online phenomenon Isol-Aid unveils ‘Homegrown’, a new program supporting emerging artists

A collaboration providing creative and financial support to emerging bands across Australia and New Zealand.

Just over a year ago, COVID-19 made its way to Australia, devastating the music industry in the process. Helping support artists in need, Isol-Aid came to the rescue, restoring the music scene and helping musicians, who would’ve otherwise had gigs, launches, tours, and other appearances planned for this period.

Quickly becoming a driving force within the industry and a saving grace for many, the award-winning online music festival continues to aid our artists in need who are still reeling after an incredibly tough year.

Teaming up with global creative platform 99designs by Vistaprint, the two forces have now launched Isol-Aid Homegrown – a collaboration providing creative and financial support to some of the most exciting emerging bands and musicians across Australia and New Zealand.

The key takeaways

  • Isol-Aid has teamed up with 99designs by Vistaprint to launch Isol-Aid Homegrown
  • Created for Australian and New Zealand artists, Homegrown will see 25 artists or groups selected to perform, alongside other perks
  • One artist will also be selected by a panel of judges to receive a $10,000 grant to facilitate further career growth

Isol-Aid Homegrown is a new 16-week program whereby emerging local acts are invited to perform 30-minute sets alongside established artists as part of Isol-Aid’s online festival.

Alongside the chance to perform, 25 acts will also receive $2,000 worth of design work from professional freelance artists from the 99designs community to create promotional materials such as t-shirts, posters, album art or other merch, which will be produced by Vistaprint and help take the act’s career to the next level.

One act will also be selected by a panel of judges to receive a $10,000 grant to boost their career and creative growth, alongside a dedicated mentoring session from Killing Heidi singer and solo artist, Ella Hooper, who is leading the judging panel.

“I’m so excited to be able to join the Isol-Aid and 99designs teams in providing some of Australia and New Zealand’s most exciting emerging musicians with real, tangible support while the industry is very much in recovery mode,” says Hooper.

“It’s going to be incredible to see people getting around their favourite Homegrown artists as we come together to celebrate our local music community and help discover new talent.”

If you’re keen to throw your hat in the ring or you know someone who would love to get in on this opportunity, you can nominate your favourite emerging act (or yourself) to be part of Isol-Aid Homegrown now.

To qualify, the nominee must be from Australia or New Zealand and perform original music. To perform as part of Isol-Aid Homegrown, acts must also have their own TikTok account.

Isol-Aid Festival will stream live on TikTok every two weeks, starting on Wednesday July 14 from 6pm and each bill will feature at least one of the selected Homegrown acts.
