The move will take place in early 2015. In a statement about its online move, Obese said, “With a new facelift and a more efficient navigation system, clientele will have access to the same quality products, brand new local and international apparel as well as an extensive range of guys and girls Obese Records branded apparel and accessories.”

Obese Records was founded in 1995 as a store in Prahran (initially called Ollie Bobbitt) before expanding to a record label and distribution network. The company also moved into vinyl pressing by buying the Zenith Records vinyl pressing plant but sold it in November 2007.

The Frankston store opened at 6 Wells Street in March 2013 to cater for hip hop fans in that region.

Obese is putting it up for sale for $28,000 plus stock valued at $10,000. It has a turnover of over $140,000 per annum. Contact [email protected].
