Nurses: Dracula

nurses-dracula.jpg

Sure, they stumble at times, including on the obtrusive Extra Fast and the awkwardly meandering Wouldn’t Tell. But when they find their mark, Nurses manage to create the kind of timeless pop that may leave listeners feeling weightless. You Lookin’ Twice shows great strides and is a mature slice of dreamy pop goodness. Not too be outdone, album opener Fever Dreams pulsates with a kind of radioactive energy that is as entertaining as it is seductive.

Dracula presents a blanket of sound that could find listeners in the right state of mind slipping into a totally benign coma. The latter half of the record not only provides some of the more stunning and cerebrally-intensive moments, it signals the beginning of a new era for Nurses; one of infinite possibilities.
