Following major works to make the north bank of the river more accessible and enjoyable to the public, Enterprize Park is now open with a new look.
Nestled between Queens Bridge and Kings Street Bridge, on the north side of the Yarra River, the redeveloped Enterprize Park is welcoming Melburnians back to a new and improved parkland. Featuring an extra 1,000 square meters of lush, green lawn and better access and views to the river, Enterprize Park is part of the Greenline council initiative, which aims to transform the bank from the MCG to Docklands.
“Seating along the river’s edge, more space, better pathways and wider stairways will make this a space where family and friends can be active or come to unwind,” Lord Mayor Sally Capp explained.

For the Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung peoples of the Kulin nation, this space along the Yarra River has been a crossing point and meeting place for many thousands of years. The improvements of Enterprize Park aim to honour the land as a significant place of Aborigional history and identity. “Enterprize Park was once a gathering place for Aboriginal people and its connection with our First Nations people is profound,” the Lord Mayor said. “The park now offers our diverse community with an honest and respectful representation of what this space once was.”

Councillor Rohan Leppert, the Environment Portfolio Lead, has stated that the improvements to the park are a massive step in transforming the banks of the Yarra River into a centrepiece of culture and liability in Melbourne.
“Our vision of a greener, more sustainable Melbourne is becoming a reality. Enterprize Park is just one of many projects which will reinvigorate the north bank of the river,” Leppert said. “It will attract people as well as new forms of wildlife – fostering a vibrant, sustainable river-front ecosystem.”
Enterprize Park is one of many projects being delivered by the Council in 2022, in line with the City of Melbourne’s Yarra River – Birrarung Strategy.
