Dayzed releases latest single Quicksand, showcasing sun-kissed sonic palette

Dayzed

Expect a musical journey that blends introspection and dreamy nostalgia, the Naarm/Melbourne-based outfit Dayzed have released their latest single, Quicksand.

The solo project of Josh Prendergast (ENOLA, Genuine Fake), Dayzed’s music combines indie rock, dream-pop, and shoegaze to create a sound that is both introspective and uplifting. Drawing on his upbringing in the coastal town of Ocean Grove, Prendergast creates a sun-kissed sonic palette that is reminiscent of Alvvays, DIIV and Beach Fossils.

The song is a reflection on new beginnings and transformation, with a nod to the past that has influenced it. The track’s catchy melodies and hazy guitars are accompanied by a striking new music video directed by Guy Perkins, which showcases themes of repetition, isolation and contemplation.

Dayzed has been gaining popularity in the Naarm/Melbourne music scene, with recent performances alongside shoegaze heavy hitters Flyying Colours and a show at Mamma Chen’s Access For All with Racerage and Porpoise Spit. The band’s latest single is available on Bandcamp and all streaming services.

With Quicksand, Dayzed continues to deliver their unique blend of indie rock, dream-pop, and shoegaze. Prendergast’s introspective lyrics and uplifting melodies create a sound that is both nostalgic and contemporary, making Dayzed a band to watch.

Quicksand will be available on Bandcamp and all streaming services on May 4, adding yet another gem to Dayzed’s repertoire.
