Boasting a hand-picked curation of films from this year’s Cannes Film Festival, MIFF will feature 35 feature titles that range from thrillers, dark comedies, documentaries and first-class cinema. As a whole, the selection represents the best – and most talked about – collection of films from the iconic Cannes event this year.

Highlights include the 2017 Palme d’Or winning The Square, the Jury Prize-winning Loveless, and BPM telling the story of politics and passions during the aids activism of the ’90s.

Elsewhere, MIFF favourite Yorgos Lanthimos is back directing Colin Farell and Nicole Kidman in The Killing of a Sacred Dear; with further highlight Wonderstruck taking to the screen – conveying an illustrated tale of two deaf runaways and the redemptive magic of cinema.

Robert Pattinson takes the lead in the heart-racing thriller Good Time while Closeness explores family relations intermingled with ethnic tensions in a stunning, disturbing debut from young Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov.
