One of the most iconic bands of the US thrash metal movement, Nuclear Assault, will be coming to Australia for their first and last time in February 2017. With a 30-year legacy behind them, Nuclear Assault are hanging up their instruments. In Melbourne, Adelaide’s Hidden Intent will open the show, joined by hometown heroes Desecrator. Nekromantix are easily one of the wilder bands working in psychobilly today. Since forming in Copenhagen in 1989, Nekromantix fast emerged as a feverishly cherished underground act, first unleashing their unstoppable debut Hellbound. They’re hitting Australia in 2017 and you can catch them at The Bendigo Hotel on Saturday January 14.
Having just completed their year-long world tour, heavy metal icons Queensryche have just released a new music video for their song Bulletproof. Speaking about the story behind the track, vocalist Todd La Torre says “Bulletproof is a journey through a relationship gone bad, however painful the relationship is you still find a way to persevere.”
Greek melodic power metal masters Firewind, led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G. release their eighth studio album, Immortals, on Friday January 20. The album marks the first time Firewind has used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it with Gus G.
The mighty Kreator release Gods Of Violence on Friday January 27. Three years in the making, the album fundamentally redefines what Kreator is all about. Some lines are sung in German; indie pop artist Dagobert shows up; Italian death metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse lend a hand with the orchestral parts of four songs; and 12-year-old Tekla-Li Wadensten played the harp for the title track.
Hadal Maw have announced which bands will be joining them on their album tour, commencing in February. “The bills are a mix of old friends, guys who have been incredibly supportive since we kicked things off who we can party with, and new friends,” drummer Rob Brens says. In Melbourne you can see them with Earth Rot, No Haven and The Hazard Circular at the Northcote Social Club on Saturday February 4.
Brisbane alien metallers Aversions Crown have released their brand new song The Soulless Acolyte. “The Soulless Acoloyte is one of my favourite tracks off the album, and another big piece of the Xenocide puzzle to decipher,” vocalist Mark Poida says. New album Xenocide will be released on Friday January 20 via Nuclear Blast.
