HADAL MAW SIGN TO EVP RECORDINGS
Melbourne death metallers Hadal Maw have signed with premiere Australian label EVP Recordings for their second album. EVP Recordings have been responsible for releases by world class acts such as Behemoth, King Parrot, Psycroptic and King. After breaking in the new year by recording their second release with new vocalist Sam Dillon (Lo!, Snakes Get Bad Press), Hadal Maw has wasted no time in hitting the road again, with the new lineup and sound being well received at shows around the country including spots with Cryptopsy, Thy Art is Murder, Be’lakor and on the famed New Dead Fest. BLACK RHENO HAVE NO TIME FOR NUMB NUTS
Sydney’s genre-bending heavy groove exponents Black Rheno will cap off a super productive 2016 by unleashing their debut EP Let’s Start A Cult on Friday October 14 via Rocket and they’ll hit the road for an extensive east coast tour in November and December. They’re also about to release a new video for the single No Time For Numb Nuts featuring a cameo from King Parrot’s Matt Young. THE GUITAR TOUR OF THE YEAR
Fans of great instrumental music are in for a huge treat with Animals As Leaders, Plini and Nick Johnston playing at 170 Russell on Tuesday February 28. Animals As Leaders will be playing in support of their upcoming album The Madness of Many, due Friday November 11. BAYSIDE LOCAL SUPPORTS ANNOUNCED
With less than four weeks to go until American rockers Bayside hit Australian shores, the band now announce the local supports for their November tour in addition to the previously announced special guests Young Lions and Far Away Stables who are supporting on all shows. In Melbourne, punk rockers The Playbook and alternative rockers The Valley Ends will get things started on Sunday November 6 at the Corner Hotel.
JUKE KARTEL AND MIKE WATERS JOIN THE CALLING TOUR
Australian guest acts Juke Kartel and Mike Waters will be joining US hitmakers The Calling on their Australian tour this November. Juke Kartel are reforming for this special run of shows. After worldwide radio success and release of their 2011 record Levolution, JK disbanded in 2013 and will return once more to Australia to perform for the very last time featuring the classic lineup of the band, lead by LA-based frontman Toby Rand. “We haven’t played together for a number of years and can’t wait to see the fans we haven’t connected with for so long,” Toby says. “Having Ed and Aj back in the lineup will be a lifetime memory.
