Melbourne Pavilion, located on Racecourse Road, Kensington, is set to undergo an extensive refit to enable it to host major touring acts, and will operate under the name Pavilion Live.
The venue currently operates as a sports and function centre with a licensed capacity of 1,300. The venue’s owners have an application before the authorities to increase that capacity to 2,250, and will fill a gap in the market that has been highlighted by the recent closure of the Palace Theatre in Bourke Street.
