Melbourne Museum channels Harlem for MEL&NYC

The August edition of Melbourne Museum’s beloved Nocturnal series, where the Museum welcomes guests after dark for live music performances and drinks, has arrived and it is a pretty special one.

As you’re surely aware by now, Melbourne has been borrowing some cultural bits and bobs from New York for the MEL&NYC crossover over the last few months, which has included the likes of a MoMa X NGV exhibition and a RocKwiz NYC Salute show. The latest venue to jump on board the city-wide takeover is The Melbourne Museum, which will be transforming into Harlem for an evening.

Through live entertainment such as spoken-word performances, dance and projections as well as Southern food and live music performances, The Melbourne Museum will embrace Harlem’s melting pot of cultural influence for the evening.

Jazz, RnB, soul and reggae outfit Rakiem Walker Project will be making a special appearance, flying in from Harlem especially for the event. They’ll be joined by 1/6, ‘Round Midnights and MzRizk for a jam-packed evening full of genre-diverse music.

This is set to be an electric event, so jump on tickets quick if you want to see the Museum like you’ve never seen it before.
