On the back of his recent release ‘This Is America’, which just about broke the internet with its poignant message on gun violence in America, Childish Gambino is back with two new tracks, together titled Summer Pack.
Though it’s far from summery in Australia right now, the two track effort brings warm licks of summery beats and an endless sea of rippling groove.
‘Summertime Magic’ is a hypnotic love song with swirling melodies and a repetitive chorus that’ll instantly crawl into your ears and swim around there indefinitely whilst ‘This Is Summer’ is ambient and mellow, taking you to a faraway tropical island where not a single worry exists.
The Summer Pack comes from the same team that brought you ‘This Is America’, co-written and co-produced by Gambino himself and Ludwig Goransson. ‘Summertime Magic’ is the first official single from Gambino’s forthcoming album, details of which are yet to come.
