Converge are bringing Jane Doe to Melbourne Pavilion in full, and Lucidity is the festival making it happen.
Destroy All Lines has set the inaugural Lucidity for 13 March 2027, capping it at 2000 tickets inside the heritage-listed Kensington hall, which started life as a wartime factory in 1945. Converge haven’t been to Australia since 2019. They’ve played Jane Doe end to end exactly twice, at Roadburn in 2016 and Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in 2021, so Lucidity will be the third time anyone on earth has seen it.
Belgium’s Oathbreaker head south of the equator for the first time to mark 10 years of Rheia, the album they toured relentlessly before calling a hiatus in 2018 and reuniting last year. Wiegedood, who share a member or two with them, make their first Australian appearance since Direct Underground Festival in 2018.

Portrayal of Guilt finish their debut Australian run here, with 2026 record …Beginning of The End in tow. Melbourne’s The Broderick, who split shortly after Free To Rot, Free of Sin landed in 2012, have reassembled to play it 15 years on.
Extortion are the local heavyweights on the bill. The powerviolence outfit have been funnelling their energy into a third album, their first full-length in more than a decade. Ends in Tragedy, Blind Girls, Isua and Melting round out the lineup, all of them operating somewhere in the louder end of Australian metal and hardcore.
There’s more going on than the stages. Callum Preston and Artist First are building Homewrecker Records, a shoppable pop-up record store installation that runs for the one day only. The Oblivious Maximus podcast is hosting live Q&As with the bands, and there’ll be market stalls and food trucks scattered around the site.
Tickets go through Oztix. With a 2000-cap room and a Jane Doe set that’s only ever happened twice, the pre-sale on 19 October is the one to diarise.
