Live Nation has expressed that Mel C’s performance at the carnival will be part of a wider Australian tour with more dates expected to be announced soon, but it’ll be the only stop the artist makes in Melbourne.
Following the break up of the Spice Girls in 2000, Mel C branched out on her own. Throughout her solo career, she’s never left the spotlight – with eight solo studio albums behind her, a stint on television and more UK number-one hits than any other female artist in chart history, she has a legacy that’s impossible to match.
In recent years, she’s been gaining a reputation on the international party circuit as an impressive DJ, playing everywhere from Ibiza to Glastonbury.
Joining her on the lineup will be fellow DJs London’s Jax Jones and German-Croatian Topic. After stepping into the public eye with a feature on Duke Dumont’s number-one single I Got U, Jax Jones has won over the hearts of fans with his club bangers and deep, tropical house sound.
Best known for his certified platinum track, Topic is expected to bring an eclectic set full of thumping progressive house and future bass.
The entertainment by Mel C, Jax Jones and Topic will only be accessible to those who choose the Palooza package or higher when buying Melbourne Cup tickets.
