Head to Cinema Nova on Friday January 21 to watch the Facebook documentary ‘Catfish’, and to discuss the film with the makers and the star of this reality thriller.

Cinema Nova presents the star and makers of the hit Facebook documentary Catfish on Friday January 21.

This fascinating film caused a stir at the Sundance Film Festival, and was called "unbelievable" by Empire Magazine.

A riveting reality thriller, Catfish has been a topic of discussion since its release overseas.

Join host Clem Bastow (The Vine, The Big Issue, Triple R, Inpress), Nev Schulman, Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost as they discuss the film, social networking, and answer your questions.

The film documents New York photographer Yaniv "Nev" Schulman and his Facebook relationship with a woman from Michigan, Megan.

But as the relationship develops romantically, he begins to suspect all is not what it seems. When Nev uncovers some startling revelations, he, Ariel and Henry set off on a road trip to find her, only to discover a shocking but ultimately moving truth.

What was once a small documentary becomes a heartbreaking, edge-of-your-seat look at human nature in our digital age.

"We hope the film will come across as an adventure, as exciting and mysterious as the one we lived… as a snapshot of the triumph and pitfalls of modern communication," said Henry Joost.

Meet the makers of what is sure to be the most talked about doco in 2011.

Get on down to Cinema Nova, 380 Lygon St Carlton on Friday January 21, 7pm. Tickets are on sale now from the box office, or you can get them online here.
