The worse the weather, the cheaper the drinks at this St Kilda haunt.
Winter may not be the season for beachside drinks, but Stokehouse Pasta and Bar is trying to change that with this too-cool-for-school special. All season long, the venue will be price-matching cocktails to the outside temperature.
This means whatever it says on the weather app is what you’ll pay for negronis, martinis and lemoncello spritzes. With a high of 17 degrees and a low of 7 currently expected for the coming week, there’s never been a better chance to get down there and snag the deal.

Guests can purchase a maximum of two drinks each on special. And what happens if the thermostat hits negatives? Well, drinks are going down to a minimum of $1 if it gets really cold. If there happens to be a rogue snow day this year, we know where we’re headed.
Fun fact: the lowest temperature ever recorded in Melbourne is -2.8 degrees C. This happened on 21 July, 1869 and pretty much shut down the entire city.
Located right on the St Kilda beachfront, Stokehouse Pasta and Bar is a charming, chic and chilled out dining space the specialises in award-winnng seafood and modern Australian fare – think brown butter marron, Murray cod and beef tartare with oysters. It’s known for it’s wrap-around windows and stunning view of Port Phillip Bay.
As well as the winter drinks special, the restaurant also offers BYO for special bottles, tasting menus and more. Stokehouse is open from noon to late, Wednesday to Saturday, and from noon until 5pm on Sunday.
