Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival wraps up its final week with Harvest, a free twilight celebration on Kyneton's historic Piper Street.
Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival is going out with a bang, capping off a month of festivities with its inaugural closing night event, Harvest. It’s a lantern-lit, fire-warmed evening in the heart of Kyneton.
Think hay bales and blankets, botanical installations, twinkling lights, and the kind of crackle-and-glow atmosphere that makes you remember why autumn is the best season.

Kicking off with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony at 4:45pm, the night rolls into live music across St Paul’s Park and Kyneton Museum.
Local acts Valley Road, Kyneton Country Revue, The Dusty Millers, and Cat & Clint bring folk, country and mountain music vibes to Piper Street throughout the evening, while the food and drink situation is equally on point.
Pies, soups, roasted chestnuts, warm apple cider, herbal teas, and hot toddies all feature. Basically the full autumn bingo card.
Kyneton Museum opens for free general entry on the night too, with a family-friendly ghost tour available for those after a bit of spook with their cider. Boutique retailers along Piper Street will also extend their trading hours for a spot of late-night shopping.
Still with time left in the festival weekend?
Autumn Festival-goers can keep working through Australia’s biggest Pie & Tart Trail and the Autumn Tipple Trail, with cool-climate wines, craft brews, gin, and seasonal cocktails all still on offer. It’s also last call to vote in the Edgy Veg Awards, so don’t sleep on that.
For those chasing peak autumn colour, the Mount Macedon Autumn Garden Trail is still running, taking in heritage-listed properties including Duneira Estate, Forest Glade Gardens, and Viewfield. Markets, exhibitions, workshops, and the beloved Malmsbury Village Fayre round out the final week’s calendar.
Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival concludes at 8pm on Thursday, 30 April.
