M.Ward embarks on a solo Australian tour in 2011.
M.Ward debuted as a solo artist in 2003 with his album Transfiguration Of Vincent. Since then he has produced three successful solo releases including his most recent effort, 2009’s Hold Time.
Having been a part of the duo She And Him and a member of indie supergroup Monsters Of Folk, M. WARD has accumulated an ever-increasing and dedicated audience; charmed by his deft guitar picking, bar room piano, and voice like drizzled honey.
While past critics have compared M. WARD to everyone from John Fahey to Tom Waits due to his brilliant guitar playing and innate sense of melody, he is one of those rare and special talents who defy comparisons.
It’s been a long time between visits, but M. WARD is now pleased to announce that he will head out to Australia to perform solo shows where he will playing a selection of songs from his expansive catalogue.
Support at all shows will be provided by Holly Throsby and her band as she previews her forthcoming album Team.
The pair will perform in Melbourne at The Palais Theatre on Friday February 18 2011.
