Louis Tomlinson's Melbourne fans can lock in 20 October at John Cain Arena for the How Did We Get Here? world tour
Louis Tomlinson is heading back to Melbourne this October, confirming three arena dates across Australia as part of his massive How Did We Get Here? 2026 world tour. Presented by Untitled Group, the run marks his biggest Australian venues to date.
The Louis Tomlinson Melbourne show lands at John Cain Arena on 20 October, a serious upgrade from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl where he last played in early 2024. From there, he’ll head to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on 22 October and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 24 October. Pre-sale tickets open from 9am local time on 30 March until 8am on 31 March, with general public on sale from 9am on 31 March.
The Australian dates cap off a stacked 50-plus date global run that kicked off in Europe this month and rolls through the UK, Canada and the US before touching down here.

How Did I Get Here? marks a new chapter
The tour follows the release of Tomlinson’s third studio album How Did I Get Here?, which dropped on 23 January via BMG. It debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts and landed at number three on the ARIA Album Charts, cementing his strongest solo chart run yet. Written and recorded partly in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica alongside co-producer Nico Rebscher, the 12-track record sees him stretching into funk-inflected pop rock territory that’s a clear departure from the grittier indie sound of his earlier work.
From One Direction to Melbourne arena headliner
Since stepping out from One Direction, Tomlinson has steadily built a solo career that now spans three albums and tours across five continents. His 2020 debut Walls moved more than 1.2 million copies worldwide and pulled in close to one billion streams. Follow-up Faith In The Future hit number one in the UK, Spain, Argentina and Belgium, and cracked the top five on the ARIA Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. The Faith In The Future world tour saw him sell out arenas in 34 countries and stadiums in five, including a headline set at Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez – making him the first male solo artist to do so.
Beyond touring, Tomlinson has carved out a reputation for championing emerging talent through The Away From Home Festival, which he curates and headlines. The festival expanded into the US in late 2025, adding another dimension to a solo career that continues to pick up momentum. With Untitled Group — the powerhouse behind Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts and Wildlands — handling the Australian dates, expect a production level that matches the scale of the venues.
