City of Port Phillip’s local music festival Live N Local is back for another year and with the lineup announcement just around the corner, the festival has teased the 2018 program by letting slip a few special events we can expect this year.
First up is UnderSCORE, an immersive orchestral concert in which the Crescendo Orchestra will perform renditions of Australian video game scores. Taking place in St Kilda’s Alex Theatre, UnderSCORE will showcase the musical arrangements of Kevin Penkin against a backdrop of accompanying gameplay.
Additionally, festival-goers can expect performances from the likes of renowned Australian singer-songwriter Kutcha Edwards who will be joined by Elwood Community Choir to perform tracks his critically-acclaimed catalogue at Memo Music Hall; Little Wise launching her latest single ‘Want It All’ at STARWARD Whisky Distillery; and Unsigned FReeZA Committee, a concert comprised of performances by Woodes, Eilish Gilligan and Poppy Rose at Memo Music Hall.
