When cosmic timing aligns with sibling harmonies, you know something special is about to happen.
Melbourne sister duo Charm of Finches are launching their brand new single Meteor at Brunswick Ballroom.
Charm of Finches, the intricate folk-pop project of sisters Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, continues to weave the kind of dreamlike harmonies that make audiences forget they’re standing in a crowded venue rather than floating somewhere between earth and sky. With four albums already under their belt and a fifth in progress, the duo has developed a reputation for crafting emotionally rich songs that blur the boundaries between chamber folk, indie pop, and atmospheric storytelling.

The new single Meteor explores nature as a mirror for inner transformation, recorded by the ocean in Victoria and mixed in Canada. It’s an early glimpse into their upcoming fifth album, which follows their 2024 release Marlinchen In The Snow. That record was created in rural Nova Scotia with Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell, inspired by frozen landscapes and their transient life touring across the UK, Europe and Canada. The album debuted in the national ARIA charts Top 30 Australian Albums, cementing their position in Australia’s contemporary folk scene.
Their performances have gained them international recognition, with tours through the UK, Europe and Canada becoming regular fixtures in their calendar. Having one of their own working at the venue adds an extra layer of hometown pride to this show. The sisters’ ability to create what they call music for stargazing has resonated with audiences worldwide, building a devoted following that spans continents. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure, creating the kind of atmosphere where time seems to slow down just enough for everyone to catch their breath.
