Covering all the terrors that life and the afterlife have to offer, the Last Podcast on the Left looks at the imagined and the real, from demons and slashers to cults and serial killers.

For more than a decade, hosts Marcus Parks and Ed Larson have been taking their conversations to live venues around the world, entertaining and edifying audiences on topics ranging from conspiracy theories, alien spaceships, true crime and all things ghastly and ghoulish.

The show covers dark subjects spanning Jeffrey Dahmer, werewolves, Jonestown, iconic hauntings, the history of war crimes, and more. Whether it’s cults, killers, or cryptid encounters, the Last Podcast on the Left laughs into the abyss that is the dark side of humanity.

The name of the podcast is a reference to Wes Craven’s iconic 1972 exploitation horror movie debut, the Last House on the Left. Wildly bantering on horror genre topics is the perfect antidote to the mystery, mayhem and nightmarish reality of events in today’s world, and a podcast-turned live stage show the perfect way to spend a winter evening down under.

Streaming since 2011, when it began as a conversation between friends who love horror films, the Last Podcast on the Left quickly grew to international acclaim and its hosts have become popular cult figures in their own right, occasionally inviting guests to join the conversation, including the likes of UFO enthusiast Dan Aykroyd. The podcast has hatched a book, the Last Book on the Left, which debuted at number three on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list in 2020.

To date there have been 580 episodes of the Last Podcast on the Left, which pulls more than a million downloads per episode, with its back catalogue drawing 11 million downloads a month, according to the Los Angeles Times. “In the Trump era, a comedy podcast about conspiracy theories finds a home in the mainstream,” blasted the newspaper’s headline in 2019, and if current events aren’t grim enough to boost its following even more, the maniacal mirth of this live show will transport audiences to another crazy and creepy reality for a couple of hours at least.
