There’s not much left to be said about the self-mythologising rise and rise of Lana Del Rey. Ride is lifted from an upcoming expanded edition of the debut full-length Born To Die, a release strategy that categorises Del Rey amongst the likes of Gaga, Perry and Minaj. The track starts out with some deft touches – lush strings complementing Lana’s vocal style nicely – but much like her broader career arc, the early promise is diluted into an unmemorable wash.
