On Sunday July 18, La Mama will screen a selection of thought-provoking films with VODmilk.
The event will showcase nine short films lifted from the eponymous online platform, VODmilk, which was launched during Victoria’s second lockdown in 2020 as a means of showcasing Indonesian and Australian films and video works from emerging filmmakers and artists.
On the music front comes Book of Wanderings, an intercultural exploration of sound melding music traditions with contemporary techniques.
An art orchestra spanning Ethio-funk heaviness, Balkan brass, Russian lyrics, and cinematic motifs courtesy of composer Misha Doumnov, Book of Wanderings comes to the La Mama stage on Monday July 19.
The two new events join a diverse spread of performances and events as part of La Mamica’s Poetica, Musica, Cinematica, and Caberetica programs.
