Penned in self-isolation during Melbourne’s lockdowns, the 13-track record was afforded more time and refinement than the band’s first LP.

“The whole thing was less spontaneous and more darkly considered,” said frontwoman Amy Taylor.

“When the pandemic hit, our options were the same as everyone: go find a day job and work in intense conditions or sit at home and drown in introspection. I fell into the latter category. I had all this energy inside of me and nowhere to put it, because I couldn’t perform, and it had a hectic effect on my brain. My brain evolved and warped and my way of thinking about the world completely changed.”

“In the end, this album is just us — raw self-expression, defiant energy, unapologetic vulnerability,” she added.

Amyl and The Sniffers have also revealed the first taste of the forthcoming release with the first single lifted from the album, ‘Guided by Angels’, and an accompanying film clip.
