The outsourcing service acts as a conduit between music industry clients and creatives.

Melbourne-based music promotion and management company, Slow Clap, has unveiled a new digital creative outsourcing service to connect freelancers with campaign work and projects.

Titled Slow Clap Creative Connector Portal, the platform has already signed up over 130 freelancers.

The brainchild of Slow Clap founder and director, Cara Williams, the portal was devised to fill a gap she saw in the creative market during the 2020 lockdowns.

“During lockdown last year, I received an influx of PR inquiries from artists who’d spent their downtime writing and recording new music but hadn’t taken the next vital step in engaging creatives to work on their campaign assets. Most didn’t know anyone to work with, or were totally unaware of the type of content they needed for the next stage of their release,” explained Williams.

“On the other hand, I was watching as a lot of my creative friends who weren’t eligible for JobKeeper struggled to source new work and earn an income. It was clear the creative sector needed some support, and I realised the music industry didn’t have a dedicated one-stop-shop for artists to source all freelancers needed for their campaigns. So I got to work developing it,” she said.

The portal is open to a range of creative services including photography, graphic design, videography, illustration, copywriting, audio-engineer services, animation, and more.

The registration process allows freelancers to outline their base rates, services offered, and portfolio so Slow Clap can match them with suitable opportunities based on an agency’s budget, required deliverables, and deadlines.
