Labeled a “modern indie-pop tour de force” by Entertainment Weekly, King Princess (AKA Mikaela Straus) was propelled to overnight success at the age of 19 with the release of her viral track 1950. Her debut album, Cheap Queen, was released on Mark Ronson’s record label and went platinum in Australia and the United States.

Now, she’ll be bringing her charismatic live show to Australia as a guest of the ethereal pop supergroup Florence + The Machine. Together, they’ll play five dates throughout the country, with two shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver arena on March 8 and 9.

King Princess will be playing in support of her most recent album, Hold On Baby. The singer’s sophomore record featured the hit singles Pain and Let Us Die, which is dedicated to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Praised for being some of the artist’s most raw and introspective work yet, the album was met with much critical acclaim.

It’s the first time King Princess will be back in the country since her tour in 2019. Her debut venture into Aussie-land sold out almost immediately, so fans shouldn’t hesitate to snag their tickets when they go on sale on November 30.
