After recently revealing that he would be heading to Australia this year to tour his latest album American Utopia, David Byrne has announced he will be joined by New Zealand pop singer/songwriter Kimbra on the forthcoming run of shows.

In addition to performing tracks from American Utopia, which dropped at the beginning of the year and marked the singer/songwriter’s first release in 14 years, Byrne is also set to please Aussie fans with a huge selection of classics from his solo catalogue as well as his career in Talking Heads.

Kimbra has garnered the attention of many, including Byrne, with her latest album Primal Heart which was released this year and was met with a huge level of praise. Her unique approach to pop music is unparalleled and, paired with her powerhouse vocals, makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Byrne has already dubbed this set of shows, choreographed by Annie-B Parson as “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense”, the band’s live tour film, so you can bet you’ll be in for a treat. Tickets are on sale now and selling fast, so get in quick.
