To celebrate the one year anniversary of her most recent album, Rainbow, Kesha is set to release a behind-the-scenes documentary based on creating the album and the series of events that influenced the emotional record.
Rainbow was a long time in the making, with Kesha legally barred from releasing new material due to a messy legal battle with her previous producer Dr. Luke. Kesha was contractually obliged to work the producer, which she vehemently refused to do due to the pair’s history working together which involved Dr. Luke allegedly sexually and emotionally abusing the singer/songwriter.
As a result, after being freed from her contract and finally able to write and release new music, Rainbow served as a powerful release of Kesha’s pent-up emotions and her creative juices, earning her two GRAMMY nominations.
Rainbow – The Film tells the incredible tale of Kesha’s redemption, detailing the dark moments and several setbacks she overcame over the past few years. Featuring previously unseen footage from tours and gigs across America, the writing and recording processes of Rainbow and the lead up to her performance at the 2018 GRAMMY Awards, Rainbow – The Film is ultimately an inspirational tale of self-love and strength.
The film will be released exclusively on iTunes in August this year before Kesha hits Australia on her forthcoming tour in October. Watch the Rainbow – The Film trailer below.
