The multi-talented British star put out their latest release in support of Record Store Day 2023.

Kae Tempest is an artist that likes to keep busy. Their latest musical foray, Nice Idea, is a prime example – written and recorded over a five-day gap amidst Kae’s hectic touring schedule, the four-song EP is a testament to a creative energy that knows no bounds.

Released in support of Record Store Day coming up this April, the EP was made with the help of the legendary London-based producer Dan Carey.

The title track, Nice Idea, was inspired by loving someone so much that you’re happy just to do nothing together.

This is a song about wanting to stay in bed all day with the person you’re in love with. Imagine you could just shut the whole world out and enjoy each other,” says Kae.

The cozy lyrics are backed by a frenetic and jazzy instrumental with a clear breakbeat influence. It was released alongside a video shot in the artist’s native South London and made by their childhood friend, Kwake Bass.

2023 looks set to be another big year for Kae Tempest. On the schedule so far is the release of their much-anticipated upcoming poetry collection, Divisible by Itself and One, on April 27, plus the remainder of a sold-out Australian tour currently making its way down the east coast. Melbourne fans can keep their eyes out for ticket resales for the show on February 22 .

With four studio albums, a novel, a non-fiction work, three plays and five collections of poetry to their name, Kae Tempest has firmly established themselves as one of the most unique, thought-provoking and critically acclaimed voices of their generation.
