On Sunday, March 2, fans will gather at the Ballarat City Oval for a huge celebration of First Nations music and culture.
Fan-favourite festival Treaty Day Out has returned with an outstanding lineup for 2024. Set to run for the first time on Wadawurrung Country at the Ballarat City Oval, the event brings together some of Australia’s most well-known First Nations artists to share their music and raise awareness for Indigenous rights.
Organised by the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, the festival will help to draw attention and support for Treaty as the Assembly enters Treaty negotiations with the Victorian Government later this year.

Headlining the Ballarat show is none other than international superstar Jessica Mauboy, a multi-ARIA award-winning singer-songwriter. Returning for her second Treaty Day Out performance, Mauboy is set to captivate the audience with tracks from her upcoming album, Yours Forever, scheduled for release in February.
Joining the lineup is the dynamic duo Electric Fields, returning after their electrifying performance at the event in Naarm. Filipino Wiradjuri rapper Mo’Ju will also grace the stage, showcasing the neo-soul sound from their ARIA-nominated album Oro, Plata, Mata.

The lineup further includes Scott Darlow, fresh off his national Deadly Heart tour, Madi Colville-Walker, and the pioneers of the First Nations music scene, Blackfire, bringing hits from their upcoming third studio album, Re-Generation. Newcomers Brolga and Jada Weazel are also set to play.
In collaboration with Songlines Music Aboriginal Corporation, Treaty Day Out proudly features Songlines artist Canisha, known for her raw energy and freshness in music.
Treaty Day Out emphasizes inclusivity, offering free entry to Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people enrolled with the Assembly. Friends, allies, and non-enrolled individuals can purchase tickets for $100, with concession and companion tickets available.
Elected members of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria will be present at the event, providing an opportunity for community members to engage, learn about Treaty and inquire about community-led initiatives.
“We’re on track to enter negotiations on a statewide Treaty with the Victorian Government this year. This is a moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life. So if you’re mob, help get Treaty done – enrol with the Assembly and then you can enjoy a deadly day out,” says Assembly Co-chair and Gunditjmara man, Rueben Berg.
