This International Women’s Day, Platform Presents is flipping the script on traditional celebrations with You’re Invited to Our Dinner Party—a two-day event at Abbotsford Convent on March 1st & 2nd 2025.
Spanning six gallery spaces and a courtyard, this large-scale event reimagines the dinner table as a space for storytelling, solidarity, and change.
You can expect:
-40+ local artists, including Marisa Mu and Kasia Frankowicz (recently exhibited at The Other Art Fair), Kirra Jeram (Ballarat International Foto Biennale GradFoto finalist), and Nelly Fran Designs, known for capturing Melbourne’s landmarks.
-Live performances from Top Hun and Ether Link
-DJ sets in our courtyard
-A market featuring 10+ local makers and designers.
-A panel discussion on gender equity hosted by WIRE, featuring a guest speaker from Amplify Bookstore.
WIRE is Victoria’s only free, confidential support service for women, nonbinary, and gender-diverse people. We’re proud to have partnered with them on this event. Proceeds from the event support their 2025 fundraising efforts, helping sustain their vital work in gender equity and social justice.

-Tickets: $25 + booking fee (includes a $5 donation to WIRE) via Eventbrite (Sat) | Donation-based entry (Sun)
-Saturday (3:00pm – 8:00pm): Exhibition, performances, DJs, panel discussion & market stalls
-Sunday (3:00pm – 8:00pm): Low Sensory Gallery Day – a quieter, more reflective space for art immersion
