Producer Hugo T Armstrong said, “On Friday night, we’re coming hard out of the gate with a mighty night of rock and blues to kick-start the festival.” This includes Chocolate Starfish, Nick Barker and the Heartache State, Palace of the King and Raw Brit (featuring members of The Angels & Stars) on the Southern Cross Stage.
Over on The Blues Train stage, Chris Wilson’s Crown of Thorns; Jimi Hocking’s Blues Machine; George Kamikawa & Noriko Tadano (Australia’s Got Talent); NSW’s Claude Hay; Lloyd Spiegel; and Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk will kick off the weekend celebration of 20 years of the Blues Train.
The Live & Local stage features locals Tex Miller, Alister Turrill, oH sopHia and Wayne Jury.
Saturday presents all tribute acts for the crowd to sing along: Kisstroyer; Thunderstruck; Appetite for Destruction – Guns N Roses Tribute Show; The Doors Show – Absolutely Live; Pearl- Janice Joplin Show; The Aust. Queen Tribute Show; and Shed Zeppelin. Blues Train favourites feature across three stages including Sweet Felicia and the Honeytones, Louis King & the Liars Klub, Marco Goldsmith, The Tuff Tones, Andrea Marr, Blues Mountain, Jimi Hocking, Geoff Achison, Claude Hay, Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk, Lloyd Spiegel, Spoonful, Wayne Jury and Mr Black & Blues. A dedicated live and local stage all of Saturday will feature acts from Geelong and the local region.
Sunday is their Family Day with Daryl Braithwaite, Boom Crash Opera, The Chantoozies, Michael Stangel (The Voice, Bay FM), The Glitter Gang and Rick Price. The Blues Train anniversary celebrations continue across three stages; a live and local dedicated children’s stage will start at 10.30am, followed by youth bands in the evening.
