Haus of Hans: Disco Spektakulär coming to Brunswick for Comedy Festival

Hans

International superstar, sex symbol and piano accordionist, Hans - known from his grand final run on America’s Got Talent - graces Brunswick with his presence on Saturday April 9.

The larger-than-life German entertainer is self-described as boozier than Oktoberfest, more drive than a Volkswagen, and more sausage than a bratwurst convention.

He’ll bring disco, dance and drama to Brunswick Ballroom on April 9, showing Melbourne audiences why he was voted one of the world’s top 10 entertainers by no less than NBC, after making the grand final of America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

What you need to know

A variety entertainer, in the old-mould of a renassiance performer but exceptionally camp, Hans The German as he’s sometimes known reached a fairly stratospheric level of fame after America’s Got Talent.

He’ll bring a show inspired by the opulent New York city club scene of the early ’80s and ’90s in four-parts, allowing him to showcase his skills across tap dancing, acrobatics and the piano accordion, among others.

In addition to his American television honours, he’s a two-time winner of the Best Cabaret award at the Edinburgh Fringe, and he actually premiered this latest show at the Adelaide Fringe festival, where he also won the Best Cabaret award.

“My original production of Hans: Like a German debuted to sell-out crowds at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2019, winning the Best Cabaret award and followed by a nationwide tour,” Hans says.

“Now with an über spring in my step, my brand new show, Haus of Hans: Disco Spektakulär, premiered at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2020. It was my most ambitious production ever and became the highest-selling comedy cabaret show at the festival, and the highest grossing South Australian production too. To top it all off, I took home the coveted Best Cabaret award for the second year in a row. Yes honey!”
