Sydney indie-electronic band Guineafowl are taking their Hello Anxiety across the East Coast starting next month.

Sydney’s Guineafowl will cavort across the East Coast in February and March to celebrate the release of their debut EP Hello Anxiety.

Nominated for two awards in FBi’s annual Sydney Music, Arts and Culture (SMAC) Awards for Next Big Thing and Best Sydney Song, the city has certainly embraced Guineafowl, and so it’s about time the rest of Australia gets a good look at them too.

Guineafowl’s humble beginnings grew from a solo project in a makeshift studio above a noisy antique store and an even noisier bus line in Bondi, to recording at BJB studios with a full band. The result is the pop-heavy, story-saturated gem of an EP Hello Anxiety, featuring tracks such as radio faves Botanist and In Our Circles.

This quirky, indie-tronic band impressed industry and audience alike at BigSound 2010 with their spacious tunes, building crescendos and danceable beats.

They recently wrapped up a tour supporting Belles Will Ring in December, and have shared the stage with the likes of Cloud Control, The Magic Numbers and Fanfarlo.

Guineafowl are joined on tour by rousable rebels in each city including We Say Bamboulee and Cameras in Sydney; Goodnight Owl and Kins in Melbourne; Of The Red Sea and Long Island Sound in Newcastle; and Readable Graffiti and Crash The Curb in Canberra.

Hello Anxiety will be released on February 18 through Dew Process.

Guineafowl will present their Hello Anxiety EP tour at the Northcote Social Club on Friday March 4. Tickets go on sale on January 14 and are $10+bf through northcotesocialclub.com or $12 at the door.
