Groovin The Moo (GTM) returns to its Maitland, Canberra and Bendigo locations next month with Wolf Alice, BROODS, Peking Duk, Hilltop Hoods, Thomas Headon and more.
After what seems like a lifetime waiting out the pandemic in a paddock, Groovin the Moo is back and ready to run into three beloved regions around Australia this April with a stack of artists.
Returning to Maitland, Canberra and Bendigo, the all-ages festival will be taking place for the first time since 2019, following two years of COVID-19 cancellation, with a wildly-diverse line-up featuring homegrown heroes and international guests.

Representing the homefront, the festival boasts Aussie legends Hilltop Hoods, Peking Duk, Middle Kids, Alice Ivy, Shouse, Hockey Dad, Jesswar, Polaris and many more, while international guests include Wolf Alice, BROODS, Thomas Headon, Snakehips, Milky Chance, Riton and Chaii. Delivering something for every kind of punter, the festival also includes Spiderbait, new favourites like Sycco, Hope D, HP Boyz and JK-47, Eurovision conquerer Montaigne, Remix maestros Mashd N Kutcher and Redhook who will provide the riffs.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a festival fanatic, GTM is the perfect place to forget about the worries of the last few years. You’re free to immerse yourself in a world of pure happiness, incredible music and the funnest of times.
As announced last year, Groovin the Moo 2022 will see the festival run three events instead of its usual six, kicking off at its longest-standing home in Maitland NSW on Saturday 23 April. Then, it will hop over to EPIC in Canberra ACT on Sunday 24 April. The following weekend, it’s on to Bendigo VIC on Saturday 30 April.
“It’s been a long time between opening our GTM gates and we can’t wait to see you again. And for those of you heading to your first Moo, we are so excited to welcome you. We’ve got more to share with you too – stay tuned for our Fresh Produce and Community Program additions coming soon,” says promoter Steve Halpin of Cattleyard.
As always, triple j are on the lookout for one artist from each GTM region to add to the 2022 lineup. Past winners include legends like SAFIA, Coda Conduct and West Thebarton and there is no doubt that two years of lockdowns and iso means a bunch of new artists ready to be discovered.
