Following the passing of legendary guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young last year, Gretsch have recreated the iconic guitar that delivered his sound for years. The guitar is a homage to the man whose talent had a seismic effect on the rock music world and serves as a fitting tribute to Young’s career and skills.
Gretsch have revealed the “Salute” Jet, a recreation of Young’s custom-made ’63 Jet Firebird, complete with all Young’s personal customisations and battle wounds. The company hoped to memorialise the late, great guitarist’s spirit and energy through the instrument – which you can now get your hands on.
