Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball from legendary British band Gomez return to Australia this November for intimate shows.
The Gomez By Request tour marks yet another chapter in the duo’s long-standing love affair with Australian audiences. After countless visits to their favourite touring destination over 25 years, the founding members of the acclaimed alternative rock outfit are stripping things back for something special.
This time around, Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball are letting fans dictate the setlist through their Gomez By Request concept. The intimate shows promise to showcase the best material from the band’s extensive catalogue, including tracks from breakthrough albums Bring It On and Liquid Skin, all delivered with Ottewell’s distinctive growl and Ball’s melodic sensibilities.

The format abandons traditional concert structure in favour of a loose, interactive experience. Armed with just two guitars, some electronic equipment and decades worth of beloved songs, the pair will craft unique performances based on audience requests. Fans can submit their song preferences through a dedicated online form ahead of the shows.
The tour represents a departure from conventional concert experiences, offering fans unprecedented access to songs that have soundtracked Australian road trips and life moments for over two decades. Each venue has been carefully selected to maintain the intimate atmosphere central to the Gomez By Request concept.
Tickets go on sale Friday 13 June at 10am local time across all venues. The duo will be joined by support act Buddy for the duration of the Australian tour.
