West Preston's finest seven-piece instrumental dance band, Gusto Gusto are primed to make waves across the pond with their inaugural international performances at the iconic Glastonbury Festival, alongside a three-week tour across the UK.

Reflecting on the significance of this opportunity, band leader Nathan Power explained, “Out of the 3,000 bands gracing Glastonbury’s stages last year, only nine were from Australia.

“Being invited to play Glastonbury is a pretty big honour, and we’re thrilled to represent homegrown Australian talent on such a grand stage as we take our music overseas.”

To fuel their journey to the UK and back, Gusto Gusto are hosting a fundraising gig coupled with the launch of their latest single Gorgon on May 11th at Chalice on High Street.

“The logistical challenges of touring independently are no small feat,” Power explains.

“Transporting a seven-piece band from Australia to the UK and back is going to cost us over 20 grand, but playing overseas is an awesome investment in the future of our band, and we can’t really turn down Glastonbury can we?”

A ‘raucous seven-piece dance explosion’, Gusto Gusto have had a hectic schedule since their debut gig in 2022. Releasing two EPs and touring the country three times with over sixty shows including slots at Brunswick Music Festival (VIC), Woodford Folk Festival (QLD), Illawarra Folk Festival (NSW), Cygnet Folk Festival (TAS), and Moomba (VIC), it’s been a non-stop dance to the top.

Gusto Gusto’s debut full-length album is coming out in October 2024 with a national tour and a slew of Australian festival appearances, the first single Gorgon will be released on May 11th.

Tickets for the launch are available at Ticket Tailor. Follow Gusto Gusto on FB, IG and check out their website here.
