Gluttony On Tour is an exceptional new carnival that hand-picks the best live music, circus, burlesque, food and wine from the Adelaide Fringe and brings it to Melbourne's eastern suburbs from April 6 - 10.

The intriguing event will light up the Maroondah region with a spectacular range of entertainment, carefully selected from one of Australia’s premier festivals. It’s an awesome chance to see the expansive highlights – with something for everyone – from a very highly-regarded interstate carnival. The level of experience on offer here is truly exceptional, with virtually every show earning rave reviews over years of performances.

It’s presented by theatre experts Karralyka, alongside Maroondah City Council, and will take place over five days from April 6 to 10 for the first week of the Easter school holidays. The festival for the senses has been running in Adelaide East End for a decade, showcasing thousands of Australia’s most talented artists and performers during that time.

It’s grown to legendary proportions in Adelaide, selling a whopping 270,000 tickets to its Fringe carnival last year, and welcoming more than 500,000 total visitors over a month. In addition to the renown of its performers, Gluttony’s strength lies in its variety. It offers the intimate and atmospheric, family-friendly and late night allure, emerging talent to national stars. Now, it’s all coming to Melbourne.

Co-directed by Daniel Michael and Elena Kirschbaum, Croydon will be honoured with Gluttony’s long-awaited interstate debut. Opening night is April 6, when Croydon Park will be transformed into the Gluttony entertainment precinct. There’ll be food, wine and bars a-plenty, but also plenty of parking and easy access to the bars and restaurants on Main Street.

Gluttony On Tour program

Gluttony will be staging their highly-successful ROUGE show, never before seen in Melbourne. The broader program will offer amixture of circus, music, comedy, burlesque, circus and children’s entertainment, with 8000 tickets up for grabs over the five days, and most performances running for around 70 minutes.

April 6: Gala Night

Gala Night on April 6 will be hosted by Matt Hale and include the sassy Shake It burlesque, an homage to David Bowie, the exceptionally acrobatic Defiant all-female circus crew, music from Australian Idol diva herself, Paulini, and performances from Bon Appetit and the Yummy cabaret.

April 7: Rebel – David Bowie Circus Rock Tribute

David Bowie once said “I want to tart rock up. I don’t want to climb out of my fantasies in order to go up on stage — I want to take them on stage with me.” The multi award-winning Stewart Reeve fronts a live band with breathtaking circus for this spectacular rock and roll sideshow.

With luchadores, strongmen, heroes and villains fighting it out for Pro Wrestling glory, this is a relatively rare chance to see top-class wrestling on stage in Melbourne at 3pm on the Saturday, this perennial entertainment favourite has won rave reviews in Adelaide.

Circus, aerials, acrobatics, juggling, hula hoops, musical moments, comedy and more, all set in a restaurant. It’s a recipe for disaster executed to perfection, which leaves little wonder that it’s performed at every Adelaide Fringe for the past 11 years. It’s also toured nationally successfully, so here’s your chance to see it in Melbourne.

Winner of Best Kids Show at the Sydney Fringe, Grossed Out Game Show is all about slime, with host Matty Grey taking two well-known contestants through a game show with an ending that “has to be seen to be believed”.
