Melbourne's electronic music scene just got its spring plans sorted. Freeform Festival is returning to Sidney Myer Music Bowl on 3 October 2026, and this time it's going bigger — much bigger.
Freeform Festival is expanding into a four-stage setup spread across the precinct and gardens, promising a sonic experience the Bowl has never quite seen before.
The festival is billing upgraded audio as a major drawcard, teasing sound design that pushes the venue’s natural amphitheatre to its limits.
A full lineup is yet to be announced, but early access sign-ups are open now for those keen to get tickets before they go on general sale.

Having launched in 2025, with an iconic performance from Four Tet, Freeform has already established itself as a serious entry in Melbourne’s electronic music calendar, built around the idea of connection and boundary-free sound.
The move to four stages marks a significant step up from its inaugural outing, suggesting the festival is settling in for the long haul as a staple of the city’s spring season.
Sidney Myer Music Bowl remains the perfect home for it; an open-air amphitheatre nestled in the Kings Domain gardens, the kind of setting that makes electronic music feel genuinely transportive after dark.
The expanded layout across the precinct and gardens should give the event room to breathe and allow punters to move between different sounds and vibes throughout the day and into the night.
Lineup details are dropping soon, so keep an eye out if electronic music is your thing.
