Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

It’s a great opportunity to discover Melbourne’s west; the festival venues will include local recording studio and bandroom Kindred Studios, music school and shop Chasing Sound, along with pop-up venues Las Palmas and Railway Reserve, all located on the traditional lands of the Kulin nation.

The amazing lineup is courtesy of partnerships with Kindred Studios, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, multi-disciplinary studio ThinOzone, and local tastemakers and curators Finding Figaro. West Set 2022 will be part of On The Road Again, a Victorian government initiative to support the return of live music events across Victoria.

One of the aspects of this year’s festival we’re most excited about is the pop-up venue Las Palmas, which will turn the Footscray Library forecourt into a 19450’s inspired Latin/Cuban-styled jazz bar. City of Maribyrnong are aiming to give attendees a first-hand taste of the myriad cultures that call west Melbourne home, with Ethiopian cafes surrounding the library on Barkly street.

“One of our performers, Solomon Sisay, works and performs in a little Ethiopian café just 500 [metres] from here and you can often hear the sounds of Ethiopian jazz filter out the back and through Footscray on Saturday nights – I really like that and wanted to have this pop-up venue do the same,” says Paul Shea, Maribyrnong City Council’s coordinator of festivals and visitation.
