The band’s last release was in 2011.
Aussie folk-rock outfit The Middle East have revealed they’ll be reuniting to play a one-off headline show early next year in Melbourne.
It’s been eight years since The Middle East suddenly called it quits, citing “a whole lot of reasons” as to why they were no longer. Taking place at The Forum in January, the Townsville seven-piece will be performing tracks from their catalogue, supported by six additional performers including a string quartet.
The Middle East performed earlier this year for a reunion gig at Vivid LIVE to celebrate 20 years of their label, Spunk. They’re also set to perform at Brisbane Festival later this week. With all these major shows being locked in, could a more permanent reunion be on the horizon?
The Middle East head to The Forum on Saturday January 11. Pre-sale tickets kick off Friday September 13 and general tickets go on sale Monday September 16 via Ticketmaster.
